Un rimedio naturale ed efficace per contrastare l’ipertrofia prostatica e la caduta dei capelli

 Il Pygeum africanum o Prunus africana, è una pianta sempreverde che cresce ad alta quota in centro e sud Africa; se ne utilizza la corteccia.

Ricca in fitosteroli (tra cui il beta-sitosterolo), mostra  delle ben note proprietà  antiinfiammatorie, poiché impedisce l’accumulo  delle  prostaglandine pro-infiammatorie nella prostata, responsabili  della  iperplasia prostatica (BPH).

I terpeni hanno effetti antiedema e decongestionanti.

Gli esteri riducono il livello dell’ormone prolattina e bloccano il colesterolo nella prostata. La prolattina aumenta il tasso di testosterone nella prostata e il colesterolo aumenta i siti per il testosterone e per la sua forma più attiva, il diidrotestosterone.

Diversi studi ed analisi cliniche hanno confermato che l’estratto di Pygeum inibisce la 5-alfa-reduttasi. Per un miglior risultato si consiglia di unire l’estratto di Pygeum ad un estratto lipofilo di Serenoa repens (antiinfiammatorio del tessuto prostatico) e con un’estratto di radice di ortica (inibizione  dei recettori del DHT) in unione a zinco (regolatore del contenuto della 5-alfa-reduttasi), al licopene (anche nella dieta, come antiossidante), vitamina E e selenio (anti-cancro).

Altri studi hanno confermato che l’estratto di Pygeum migliori anche l’attività sessuale.
